Once features are added to the map, they take a generic style: polygons will be grey, points will be blue dots, and lines will be black. The map is much more meaningful if each feature clearly represents its meaning by its style. A style is simply a graphic that represents a theme on the map. By editing features, members can change styles to the information in the map. Furthermore, adding descriptions to features harnesses the power of search in nSide, where any text description or otherwise becomes instantly searchable. Once features are styled and descriptions are added, members have fully completed a map.
